Day 80

Monday, March 21, 2011
Today's POTD is the before photo on our new Master Bath remodel project.  Ron has this week off as well as the boys for Spring Break.  He decided to start the bathroom remodel since the mold smell was getting too much for all of us.  We have no clue what we want done, but we know we want a change.  Hopefully I will be able to show the after someday soon!

Day 79

Sunday, March 20, 2011
Today's POTD is a couple of bags of stuff from the boy's room that they decided to give away.  I made them clean up their room and told them that they needed to pick a few things to give to kids that don't have as much or any toys.  I was very proud of them both, after a little bit they were both putting toys and movies in the bags to pass on.

Day 79

Saturday, March 19, 2011
Today we went to Lakewood to the Special Olympics State Games for basketball.  Both the games were so close it was crazy!  Zach made a three pointer in the first game!  We ended up taking second place, but it was so close, and all the kids played well!  What fun!

Day 77

Friday, March 18, 2011
So today's POTD, is of the two books I have been reading.  I am participating in a Lenten reading with some online friends, going through the New Testament, and I am also reading my latest "smut novel" "Lover Awakened" by JR Ward.  I had them on the entertainment stand and Ron says, "is that book so bad you need to keep it with the Bible?"  I said close maybe, but no, I just am trying to make sure I take the time to read both each day.

Day 76

Thursday, March 17, 2011
Happy St. Patty's Day!  This morning while Riley was still sleeping, my Mom and I made about 30 of these leprechaun hats.  I gave them to Riley's teacher to hand out to the kids in his class.  I didn't let Riley know about it, and I guess the teacher put them out while the kids were at music.  When they came in they were all excited, and were like "hey where did these come from?" The teacher told them that she and Miss Lundy were just sitting there grading papers and they heard a small scratching noise and when they looked up they didn't see anything and then they heard it again and looked up and there were all these little hats on the desks.  I guess Riley raised his hand and said he bet it was a leprechaun and then another boy said "yeah, because they are so small you can't see them" and then another girl says "I bet it's because I found the treasure this morning".  The teacher said it was the best thing ever!

Day 75

Wednesday, March 16, 2011
Today's POTD is of Riley just being silly!  I think he looks a little like Charlie Chapman.

Day 74

Tuesday, March 15, 2011
Today is TCU (Team Captain University) for our Relay.  I am helping the committee put the training on again this year.  Our theme this year is "Seasons of Hope", and we thought it would be neat to have center pieces on the tables to go along with this theme.  I was assigned fall for my table, and was going to do some cricut cuts and just stick them in a basket, but my sister said she would make an arrangement for me, so I just cut out the Hopes and stuck them in her arrangement.  I am thankful for her arrangement, because as always, I was running behind schedule and I didn't have time to do my original plan, not to mention that it wouldn't have looked that great.

Day 73

Monday, March 14, 2011
Today I took Zach to the ear doctor for a check up on his tubes, and the doctor decided that it was time to take his t-tubes out.  I said okay, and we went across the hall into the procedure room, Zach laid on the exam table and the doctor pulled out the tubes.  Let's hope that they heal up nicely, and that he has out grown all the ear infections!

Day 72

Sunday, March 13, 2011
Every since Riley got his Lego magazine in the mail, he has wanted me to take his picture with his creation so that it can be in the magazine.  So after I took this photo, he wanted to see it, so I put it on the screen on the camera, and he says, "so how do we get it off the camera, so they can put it in the magazine?"   It was pretty funny, but I am not really sure how to send it to the magazine, I guess I will have to look into that!

Day 71

Saturday, March 12, 2011
Today I walked in the annual St. Patty's Day parade in Colorado Springs.  We were walking for Relay for Life trying to drum up teams and to get community awareness of Relay.  My sister and her kids walked with us handing out candy and information cards about Relay.  It was fun, although I don't know that it was worth the cost to Relay.

Day 70

Friday, March 11, 2011
Today's POTD is of Zach in his Harrison hat!  He is helping the coach on the baseball team at school and he gave him an official team hat.  He said a uniform will be coming too, but he had to get all the player's taken care of first.  Zach is on cloud nine with this hat and with helping the team!

Day 69

Thursday, March 10, 2011
Today my picture of the day (POTD) is a little crazy, but I was enjoying being able to kick my feet up and relax!  I needed a POTD and so I snapped a shot of my feet!  Hopefully I will get to enjoy more evenings with my feet up in the near future!

Day 68

Wednesday, March 9, 2011
Today's POTD is of the people I had to call!  I bought Ron a laptop for Christmas, because the last one finally went out of warranty and it quit working about a month after it was serviced the last time under warranty, (they had it more then we did).  Well he went to get on it and it wouldn't come on...so I got to call HP!  Too fun!  But once they figured out that when I say it won't come on, it means that it won't come on, whether it is plugged in, or not, it won't come on, therefore I cannot tell you any codes or push any set of buttons, IT WON'T COME ON!!!!

Day 67

Tuesday, March 8, 2011
Today's POTD is of my crop table that is still up in the living room.  I figured that if I left it up from the weekend crop I would get something done.  I am not too sure that is working for me, but it sounded like a good plan!

Day 66

Monday, March 7, 2011
Today's POTD is of Zach playing basketball.  He really loves the game, but he doesn't get the ball as often as he'd like (too many ball hogs on the team, including him) so when he gets the ball, he shoots, even if it's at mid court!  It is entertaining to watch to say the least.  The funny part is, he gets pretty close to making many of the mid court shots!

Day 65

Sunday, March 6, 2011
Today I went over to Dad's and he helped me with our taxes.  I think we have them all ready to go.  We are getting back a good chunk of change again this year, but Ron doesn't want to change his withholding, because he says "we won't save that much money ourselves in a year", so he would rather get a lump sum in April each year.  Let's hope the government doesn't ever decide to penalize those of us who use the federal income tax as a savings plan.

Day 64

Saturday, March 5, 2011
Today Mom and Laurie came over and we cropped at my house.  I usually don't get too much done unless I am by myself, but today I got this layout done and another one in the working.  Not too bad!  (for me anyway)

Day 63

Friday, March 4, 2011
Today's POTD is of Riley with his frozen black sock.  His teacher suggested that the kids put a dark colored sock in the freezer so that when it snows they can take it outside and catch snowflakes on it.  Since the sock is cold, the snowflakes will take longer to melt, so the kids can see the shape and design of the snowflake.  Riley put the sock in the freezer, but kept forgetting to pull it out when it snowed.  Well, today he remembered, however a wet Spring snow doesn't work too well, because it melts way too fast!

Day 62

Thursday, March 3, 2011
Today's POTD is of the book I have been reading.  It is my smut novel!  It is a little racy, but I am really enjoying it.  I have wanted to read this series for a while and since  the boys got me books 1-6 for Christmas,  it is about time I got around to reading them.

Day 61

Wednesday, March 2, 2011
Riley finally got his Lego magazine that he has been waiting for "FOREVER".  We signed him up for it and I think it got lost, because we recently resigned up for it and it finally came.  It is just a free publication about Legos, but he was very excited to see it in the mail!

Day 60

Tuesday, March 1, 2011
Today's POTD is of Ron working at home after a full day of work.  He has been needing to take some "classes" for work online and can't get through them at work, so he has to get them done at home.  He really hates to bring work home, but sometimes it just has to be done.

Day 59

Monday, February 28, 2011
Today's POTD is of  my iced tea.  I believe one of the prompts for the week is "favorite" and this is my favorite drink.  I like it unsweetened and cold!  I usually like to joke and say that I am sweet enough without adding sugar to my tea!

Day 58

Sunday, February 27, 2011
Today's POTD is of my GYPSY!  I finally got it back!  (Well, I got it the other day and I finally got it out to update it!)  Now I get to reload all my cartridges on it, and update it and hope it works.

Day 57

Saturday, February 26, 2011
Today I went to one of Berta's Creative Memories Crops, and of course I forgot to take a picture of us, so I took one of myself once I got home.  I really like my new cropping shirt!

Day 56

Friday, February 25, 2011
My POTD is of Riley AKA "Joe Cool".  He was hanging out in my room and found this jeans jacket that is way too small, but he thought he looked cool in it, with his '70's "bull" necklace that Uncle Keith gave him from his old stash.  Too cute!

Tuesday, March 1, 2011

Day 55

Thursday, February 24, 2011
Today's POTD is the book I am reading.  Actually I am almost done with it now.  I actually read it pretty fast for me.  I have read all the others in this series and have really enjoyed them.  It's not Twilight, but still a good vampire series.  Now I have to wait for the next book to come out in NOVEMBER! I guess good things come to those that wait, Right?

Day 54

Wednesday, February 23, 2011
Today Riley's teacher sent home a worksheet to practice his full name.  It is a little "weird" for them to be learning cursive in kindergarten, but it is really neat as well.  He has his first name down, and now we need to get busy working on the last name.  Not too bad for starts!

Day 53

Tuesday, February 22, 2011
Today I noticed that we have crystals from the ones Riley and Ron decided to grow.  It didn't take two weeks like the package said it might, but Ron wasn't sure that he did it completely right in the first place.  This picture isn't the best, but they did get crystals, so that is pretty cool.

Day 52

Monday, February 21, 2011
Happy President's Day!  Today we met my sister and her kids for lunch at Chic-fil-A, and then we went shopping together for a little while.  The boys just love Auntie La and her kids, so it is nice when we all have a day off and can get together.

Day 51

Sunday, February 20, 2011
YEAH ZACH!  He finally let me put the "sticker" in the roof of his mouth.  We have been going through "tongue therapy" with the speech therapist at school for some time now.  We are trying to re-train him and his reverse tongue swallow.  The therapist gave me trachea patch to punch out and put on "his spot" on the roof of his mouth, so that his tongue will automatically go there and eventually stay up there instead of being lazy.  Well he is totally opposed to having things in his mouth that he didn't put there himself.  But today he finally let me put it there.  He didn't leave it very long, but we are making head way finally!

Day 50

Saturday, February 19, 2011
Today, I picked up Mom and we went to Castle Rock Factory shops looking for new bras for me.  I ended up only getting one, because I REALLY had to have one, but was pretty sure I could get them cheaper online.  I did find a good deal on shoes for the boys (I hope they fit) and some school uniform pants for Riley.  It turned out to be a pretty good day with Mom.  We hit Archiver's on the way home and did their make -n- takes.  I came home to freshly cleaned carpets.  Our carpets are the wrong color for a house full of boys, but because we aren't ready to replace the carpets, a good cleaning always helps refresh them!  Thanks Babe!

Day 49

Friday, February 18, 2011
This is the way I spent my Friday night.  Ron worked late, so I set up my cropping stuff and grabbed the little DVD player and had a Julia Stiles marathon.  Problem is, I watched 3 movies (that I had seen multiple times before), and only got one layout (almost) done.  That is not a real good track record for getting albums done, but the movies were GREAT!

Day 48

Thursday, February 17, 2011
Today Mom and I went to some thrift stores looking for some good deals.  Mom found a book of how to make Lego things for Riley (complete with parts) and an ice cream ball for Zach.  I wish I would have had a camera when I gave Zach the ice cream ball!  He was so excited!  (He had helped make ice cream at school using one, and really enjoyed it)  Riley and I made this balloon powered car from the how to book.  He thought it was pretty cool!   I think Grandma made a few great purchases today!

Day 47

Wednesday, February 16, 2011
Well this is how I choose to spend my Wednesday evenings right now!  I am hooked on this show.  I just love Raylan Givens (aka Timothy Olyphant)!  It really is a great show if you like the bad ass good 'ol boy home town cop kind of show!

Day 46

Tuesday, February 15, 2011
Today's POTD is of the beautiful earrings and necklace that Ron (and the boys) gave me for Valentines Day.  I was pleasantly surprised!  I didn't expect anything this nice!  Once again, Ron did a great job!

Day 45

Monday, February 14, 2011
Happy Valentines Day!  Today I kept very busy making things at the last minute!  I had a good time doing it, so that is what counts in my book.  Today's photo is of Riley going through his valentines from school.  Actually he was eating all the candy that came with the cards.  I must say that his Valentine that I made was a huge hit!  Everyone LOVED it!

Day 44

Sunday, Februay 13, 2011
Today we went to Zach's area basketball tournament.  They had two games to play for the day and both were done by noon.  The games were both very close, but the team pulled it together and won both games.  They got gold medals and will go onto state competitions from here.  Very cool for them!  They were all so happy! Go BUCKS!

Tuesday, February 15, 2011

Day 43

Saturday, February 12, 2011
Today Ron and Riley decided to start growing crystals.  Grandma Patty sent a set to grow your own crystals to one of the boys for Christmas and Riley found it and insisted on doing it.  Ron didn't follow the directions to the T, so we'll see if we get anything or not!

Day 42

Friday, February 11, 2011
Our heater went out yesterday, so we called our friend, Matt, who is currently going to school to get his HVAC license.  He only has about 6 weeks left of school and is trying to find a job.  He was happy to look at it for us, he said he needs more on site training.  He was able to fix it for $2.55 and about 2.5 hours of time.  Of course I couldn't keep Riley from "helping"!

Day 41

Thursday, February 10, 2011
Today Zach had another basketball game.  They added some games in for the season at the Deaf and Blind school.  It was a really nice gym.  Zach got fouled and ended up getting to shoot two free throws.  He missed the first one, but hit the second one!  He was pretty proud!

Day 40

Wednesday, February 9, 2011

Today I finally got my cards from Creative Memories!  I created them and then had them print them while the printing was on sale.  I think they turned out pretty nice.  I guess the cards were probably not very cheap for a do it yourself project, but they are personal and that is priceless!

Day 39

Tuesday, February 8, 2011
Confession time:  I forgot to take a photo for today and when I looked I had this on my camera.  Apparently Riley James had my back.  And one of the prompts from my P365 chat group was for macro this week.  So I think this definitely works for that!  The more I see this the more I just love it.  I am not sure if he meant to take such a close picture of himself, but he has been exploring with my camera a lot lately!

Day 38

Monday, February 7, 2011
Today's POTD is of Zach playing Defense!  He really loves playing basketball!  He has gotten so much better from when he first started playing.  He even will tell the other kids "defense", it is really great to see such growth!

Monday, February 7, 2011

Day 37

Sunday, February 6, 2011
Today was a pretty good day for the most part.  We decided to take the boys to my parents house so we could go to Costco without them.  Then we decided to make a lunch date out of it and we went to Buffalo Wild Wings.  They were okay, Ron and I may be a little bias, but we still think I make the best wings!  Now I just have to make them again.  Then we picked up the boys and went home to watch the Superbowl.  Since we aren't huge sports fans, we really didn't care who one, we just like to watch a good game from time to time!  Nice day all in all.

Day 36

Saturday, February 5, 2011
Today I was able to get away from the house and the boys.  I think I need that from time to time!  I went to Karen D's house to scrapbook, but ended up making this box.  I started the card set last night and then wanted to make the box and she just happened to have some of the transparency sheets and let me have a few of them!  I think it turned out pretty darn cute, but need to get some 3x3 envelopes and of course add the CHOCOLATE in the center spot!

Day 35

Friday, February 4, 2011
Today I was able to work on Riley's Valentine.  I was so surprised when he chose a Valentine like this over store bought ones, but very happy too, since I love to be creative!  I wasn't able to figure out how to do it in Photo Shop Elements, but I finally did figure it out in Creative Memories Storybook Creator.  I think it turned out pretty cute, now to have them printed, and then mounted on card stock, and then add the sucker.

Day 34

Thursday, February 3, 2011
Today both boys are heading back to school!  Yeah!  Before we headed to school, I took a few (just a few) photos of Riley so I could create a Valentine that I saw on a blog!  Let's hope it turns out okay!  I just loved these photos of him, and he really was a trooper letting me take "just a few more"!

Day 33

Wednesday, February 2, 2011
Today was day 2 of no school due to COLD temperatures for both boys!  Riley was hanging out in the tent he made with a card table and Zach pretty much hung out in the basement watching movies and playing the x-box and the wii.  It was nice to have a couple of laid back days, but cabin fever is starting to set in!
